Guide to Biblical Topics

This section was inspired by the work of my great-grandfather who wrote this in order to help his descendants understand better some truths from the Bible. When I found this in our family archive, I was amazed by his work and realized, that would be perfect to bring it here to help people who may ask questions about what the Bible teaches about God, his Scripture, about Jesus Christ, about baptism and etc. If you have any questions, which has not been answered here, feel free to contact us.

Credits belong to my great-grandfather, who „have fought the good fight, have finished the race, have kept the faith.” - 2. Tim 4:7 (NIV). Thanks for his tireless and persistent prayers, teachings and life, my family could come to Jesus Christ.

If you don't have enough time to read all of this, then I encourage you to read about the gospel:

We are sinners, far away from God...

„And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.” - Genesis 6:5-6 (AKJV)

„As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes. Now we know that what things soever the law said, it said to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” - Romans 3:10-20 (AKJV)

„For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” - Romans 3:23 (AKJV)

Wait, this was supposed to be the good message!

Yes, here is the good part: God is forgiving and merciful and call us to repentance.

„Come now, and let us reason together, said the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” - Isaiah 1:18 (AKJV)

„Who is a God like to you, that pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retains not his anger for ever, because he delights in mercy. He will turn again, he will have compassion on us; he will subdue our iniquities; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.” - Micah 7:18-19 (AKJV)

„While it is said, To day if you will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.” - Hebrews 3:15 (AKJV)

So, He is not going to punish us?

He already did that, but instead of punishing us, He gave and punished the most precious what He had - His only begotten Son, so He no longer have to punish us.

„For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” - John 3:16-17 (AKJV)

„In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” - 1. John 4:9-10 (AKJV)

„Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took on him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross. Why God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” - Philippians 2:5-11 (AKJV)

„But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ to all and on all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus.” - Romans 3:21-26 (AKJV)

„Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.” - John 14:6 (AKJV)

What should I do?

„That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. For the scripture said, Whoever believes on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich to all that call on him. For whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” - Romans 10:9-13 (AKJV)

There are two cases you might just realize:

  • Either you are malicious sinner who did a lot of bad things,
  • or you are trying to do what is right, what is just, but you just realized that it will never be enough, or it will never give you enough confidence.
If so, then you are on the best way to understand, that there is a way for you, and the only way through Jesus Christ, as the Romans 10:9 says: „that if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in yours heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.”, God is waiting to hear your prayer. If you don't know how to pray, you can pray a prayer similar to the following:

„Dear Jesus,

thank you, that you gave your life also for me. I realized, that I lived far away from You. Please, forgive me my sins and please give me a strength to forgive others. I do no longer want to live my old sinful life, but I want to start a new way in Your presence, with You. Please, be Lord of my heart and my Shepperd and lead me through your way.

Amen.”

I just accepted Christ in my life, what should I do next?

If you did that, this is an amazing message! And I am are really happy with you. There are a few things I really recommend you to start with:

  • Find some local church, where people really love Jesus.
  • Read the Bible. If you don't know how to start, I encourage you to start with the Gospel of John. It provides basic overview of who Jesus is and about His mission. Few other books I recommend to read after the Gospel of John are Romans, Proverbs, Psalms or the book of Genesis. You can also use our guide.
  • Pray to God. You can freely pray to God Father, through the name of Jesus Christ. You can also start to read some verses about the prayer.
  • (optional) Feel free to contact us. I would like to hear and rejoice with you about your decision.

„Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” - 2. Corinthians 5:17 (AKJV)

Here starts my great-grandfather's work:

„The highest happiness of man as a thinking being is to have probed what is knowable and quietly to revere what is unknowable.” - J. W. V. Goethe.

If you wish a peace of mind, and seek the essence and meaning of your life on this Earth, if you want to know the truth, the generosity, the science that educates, the words that give comfort and the hope of deliverance from the difficult moments of life, then draw strength from the source of the Holy Scripture - The Bible. In the darkness of this world will be the light to you and the mirror of your deeds.

In the effort to allow and attract the reader for acquaintance with the Scriptures of the Holy Bible, I attempted to write this short lesson, which I suppose to be in accordance with this text:

„And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.” - Ecclesiastes 12:12 (AKJV)

„This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.” - Joshua 1:8 (AKJV)

„Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” - Psalm 1:1-6 (AKJV)

„Commit your way to the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” - Psalm 37:5 (AKJV)

God the Father is the Creator of all creation in heaven and on Earth.

„By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea together as an heap: he lays up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spoke, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.” - Psalms 33:6-9 (AKJV)

„Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” - Hebrews 11:3 (AKJV)

Creation of the Mankind

„And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” - Genesis 2:7 (AKJV)

„And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” - Genesis 1:26-27 (AKJV)

„And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” - Genesis 2:2-3 (AKJV)

God is invisible

„Where shall I go from your spirit? or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, you are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall your hand lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.” - Psalms 139:7-10 (AKJV)

„Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? Conclusion

When the Lord God is our loving creator and ruler over us, we have to fear Him, trust Him and keep His commandments:

„Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. What is the Bible?

The Scripture of the Old and the New Testament is the word of God.

Who wrote the books of the Old and the New Testament?

Books of the Old Testament and the New Testament were written by men of God.

„For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” - 2. Peter 1:21 (AKJV)

„And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spoke the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet to our fathers,” - Acts 28:25b (AKJV)

„For it is not you that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaks in you.” - Matthew 10:20 (AKJV)

„God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, Has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” - Hebrews 1:1-2 (AKJV)

„This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.” - Joshua 1:8 (AKJV)

„Why lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” - James 1:21 (AKJV)

Why was the Bible written?

To know the will of God and to do it, to know the grace of God, and to have delighted in it.

What did the Lord God write in the Old Testament?

In particular, he wrote down his holy will according to which we have to live and what he asks of us. Through Moses, He issued the 10 commandments of God. Through the prophets, He brought up the people of Israel in preparation for the birth of Christ, and gave the promise that he will send the Messiah to save the people.

What did the Lord God write in the New Testament?

In the New Testament, the grace of God in Christ is revealed to us, a joyful message is announced to us, that the heavenly Father sent the Messiah, Jesus Christ, who prepared salvation to all people and calls them back to Him.

The Bible educates a human and is the mirror of his deeds

„But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” - Matthew 4:4 (AKJV)

„All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works.” - 2. Timothy 3:16-17 (AKJV)

„Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honor your father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth. And, you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” - Ephesians 6:1-4 (AKJV)

„My son, forget not my law; but let your heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you.” - Proverbs 3:1-2 (AKJV)

„And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to children, My son, despise not you the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and whips every son whom he receives.” - Hebrews 12:5-6 (AKJV)

„See that none render evil for evil to any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice ever more. Pray without ceasing.” - 1. Thessalonians 5:15-17 (AKJV)

„Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:” - Ecclesiastes 8:11-12 (AKJV)

„Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw near, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them;” - Ecclesiastes 12:1 (AKJV)

„For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass wither, and the flower thereof falls away: But the word of the Lord endures for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached to you.” - 1. Peter 1:24-25 (AKJV)

The Lord God leads us to know our sins by His holy law.

By the law, we recognize our sins

„Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” - Romans 3:20 (AKJV)

„What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. No, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, You shall not covet.” - Romans 7:7 (AKJV)

What is sin?

„Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” - 1. John 3:4 (AKJV)

What sin we know?

Hereditary and actual. We have inherited hereditary sin from the first people, from Adam and Eve, from which depends our affection for sin.

„And the LORD smelled a sweet smell; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.” - Genesis 8:21 (AKJV)

„And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die.” - Genesis 2:16-17 (AKJV)

„Woe to the world because of offenses! for it must needs be that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!” - Matthew 18:7 (AKJV)

What are the consequences of sin?

„For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” - Romans 6:23 (AKJV)

Jesus and law

„Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.” - Matthew 5:17 (AKJV)

„For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” - Romans 8:2-4 (AKJV)

The 10 commandments

You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make to you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy to thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shall you labor, and do all your work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: why the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long on the land which the LORD your God gives you. You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor's house, you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is your neighbor's. - Exodus 20:3-17 (AKJV)

What is the goal of the 10 commandments?

To know God's will, what he expects from us and to know our sinful nature.

Is law still valid today?

„Cursed be he that confirms not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.” - Deuteronomy 27:26 (AKJV)

„For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.” - Galatians 3:10 (AKJV)

„Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” - Romans 3:20 (AKJV)

„What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Know you not, that to whom you yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey; whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?” - Romans 6:15-16 (AKJV)

Justified people are not under the law

„Know you not, brothers, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? For the woman which has an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he lives; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband lives, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. Why, my brothers, you also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that you should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit to God. For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit to death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” - Romans 7:1-6 (AKJV)

Law is powerless against sin

„For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent to the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwells no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me.” - Romans 7:14-20 (AKJV)

By the law, we recognize sin

„What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. No, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, You shall not covet. But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, worked in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead. For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be to death.” - Romans 7:7-10 (AKJV)

Fight against sins

„Why putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. Be you angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs.” - Ephesians 4:25-28 (AKJV)

„But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatever does make manifest is light. Why he said, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.” - Ephesians 5:13-14 (AKJV)

Adam and Christ

„Why, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed on all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” - Romans 5:12-14 (AKJV)

„For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)” - Romans 5:17 (AKJV)

„For as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:” - 1. Peter 1:18-19 (AKJV)

The summary of the law

„Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” - Matthew 22:36-40 (AKJV)

„But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” - Titus 3:4-5 (AKJV)

New human

„If so be that you have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” - Ephesians 4:21-24 (AKJV)

The promise about Christ, The Savior

„And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:” - Isaiah 11:1 (AKJV)

„And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.” - Isaiah 11:10 (AKJV)

„And again, Esaias said, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.” - Romans 15:12 (AKJV)

The prophecy about the Christ and His kingdom

„Behold, the days come, said the LORD, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.” - Jeremiah 23:5 (AKJV)

The promise to those who walk in the dark

„The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, on them has the light shined.” - Isaiah 9:2 (AKJV)

The grace of God was given to us in Jesus Christ

„But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” - Galatians 4:4-5 (AKJV)

What is Gospel?

„For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God to salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” - Romans 1:16-17 (AKJV)

Summary of Gospel

Testimony about Jesus

„Search the scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.” - John 5:39 (AKJV)

The preaching of Jesus

„And there was delivered to him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” - Luke 4:17-19 (AKJV)

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter you not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” - Matthew 10:2-7 (AKJV)

Jesus and Zacchaeus

„And Jesus said to him, This day is salvation come to this house, as much as he also is a son of Abraham. For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” - Luke 19:9-10 (AKJV)

Peter's testimony

„He said to them, But whom say you that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood has not revealed it to you, but my Father which is in heaven.” - Matthew 16:15-17 (AKJV)

The true treasures

„Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” - Matthew 6:19-21 (AKJV)

Jesus teaches in parables

Jesus was teaching the divine truth powerfully and unusually beautiful. To help people remember them better, He often spoke in parables.

Jesus as a healer

Jesus as the light to the world

„Then spoke Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” - John 8:12 (AKJV)

The commandment of love

„A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.” - John 13:34-35 (AKJV)

„But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you; That you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” - Matthew 5:44-45 (AKJV)

Parable about great dinner

„And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said to him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God. Then said he to him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray you have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray you have me excused. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as you have commanded, and yet there is room. And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say to you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper.” - Luke 14:15-24 (AKJV)

Jesus predicts his suffering

„And while they stayed in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.” - Matthew 17:22-23 (AKJV)

„Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” - Matthew 16:24 (AKJV)

Unbelief in Christ

„Who has believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?” - Isaiah 53:1 (AKJV)

„But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Lord, who has believed our report? and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.” - John 12:37-40 (AKJV)

„But Esaias is very bold, and said, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest to them that asked not after me. But to Israel he said, All day long I have stretched forth my hands to a disobedient and gainsaying people.” - Romans 10:20-21 (AKJV)

„Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing you put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, see, we turn to the Gentiles. For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set you to be a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth. And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.” - Acts 13:46-48 (AKJV)

What are the offerings?

According to the covenants and laws between God and the chosen people of God from the people of Israel, the people of Israel were responsible for committing the sacrifices of the sins before the high priests, either from certain animals and birds, which had to be always without defects, or from the cereals of the first crop.

Jesus is the High Priest of the New Testament

„For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: why it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve to the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, said he, that you make all things according to the pattern showed to you in the mount. But now has he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he said, Behold, the days come, said the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, said the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, said the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. In that he said, A new covenant, he has made the first old. Now that which decays and waxes old is ready to vanish away.” - Hebrews 8:3-13 (AKJV)

Offerings have stopped

„For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Why when he comes into the world, he said, Sacrifice and offering you would not, but a body have you prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you have had no pleasure. Then said I, See, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do your will, O God.” - Hebrews 10:1-7 (AKJV)

Jesus predicts his suffering

„And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen to him, Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: And they shall mock him, and shall whip him, and shall spit on him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.” - Mark 10:32-34 (AKJV)

The last dinner

„Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, Where will you that we prepare for you to eat the passover? And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say to him, The Master said, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at your house with my disciples. And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover. Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve. And as they did eat, he said, Truly I say to you, that one of you shall betray me. And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say to him, Lord, is it I? And he answered and said, He that dips his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me. The Son of man goes as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said to him, You have said. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink you all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink from now on of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom. And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.” - Matthew 26:17-30 (AKJV)

The capture of Jesus

„Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that does betray me. And while he yet spoke, see, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people. Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. And immediately he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. And Jesus said to him, Friend, why are you come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him. And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear. Then said Jesus to him, Put up again your sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Think you that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are you come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and you laid no hold on me. But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.” - Matthew 26:46-56 (AKJV)

Jesus before the Sanhedrin

„Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him, And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year. Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.” - John 18:12-14 (AKJV)

Jesus condemned to death

„Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.” - John 19:1 (AKJV)

Jesus on the cross

„And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” - Mark 15:34 (AKJV)

Jesus' burial

„And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, sought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulcher, wherein was never man yet laid. There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulcher was near at hand.” - John 19:38-42 (AKJV)

Jesus is risen from death

„In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said to the women, Fear not you: for I know that you seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” - Matthew 28:1-6 (AKJV)

Jesus appeared himself before the disciples

„Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the middle, and said to them, Peace be to you. And when he had so said, he showed to them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the LORD. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be to you: as my Father has sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, Receive you the Holy Ghost.” - John 20:19-22 (AKJV)

Jesus sends his disciples

„And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatever I have commanded you: and, see, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.” - Matthew 28:18-20 (AKJV)

Ascension into heaven

„So then after the Lord had spoken to them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” - Mark 16:19-20 (AKJV)

How to follow Jesus Christ?

„Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” - Matthew 16:24 (AKJV)

The second coming of Christ

„For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.” - 2. Peter 3:8-9 (AKJV)

End of the World

„But, beloved, beAnd I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.” - Revelations 20:11 (AKJV)

Jesus confirms the content of the Revelation of John

„And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and fornicators, and murderers, and idolaters, and whoever loves and makes a lie. I Jesus have sent my angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take the water of life freely. For I testify to every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add to these things, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifies these things said, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” - Revelations 22:12-20 (AKJV)

Note: This section was significantly updated in addition what was written by my great-grandfather.

Who sent the Holy Spirit to the Apostles?

Holy Spirit was sent to the Apostles by the Jesus Christ.

„And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” - Acts 2:1-4 (AKJV)

That was the day, when the Church started to exist.

Produces spiritual fruit:
„But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” - Galatians 5:22-23 (AKJV)

What does the Holy Spirit do in us?

„Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said to you, You must be born again. The wind blows where it wants, and you hear the sound thereof, but can not tell from where it comes, and where it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” - John 3:5-8 (AKJV)

„Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send him to you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:” - John 16:7-8 (AKJV)

„But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” - 1. Corinthians 2:14 (AKJV)

„Why I say to you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven to men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven to men.” - Matthew 12:31 (AKJV)

„But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope” - Titus 3:4-7 (AKJV)

„What? know you not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” - 1. Corinthians 6:19-20 (AKJV)

The spiritual gifts

„Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I would not have you ignorant. You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, even as you were led. Why I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit with. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these works that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.” - 1. Corinthians 12:1-12 (AKJV)

Spiritual gifts and Love

„And now stays faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that you may prophesy.” - 1. Corinthians 13:13-14:1 (AKJV)

The purpose of Spiritual gifts

„Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that you may prophesy. For he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not to men, but to God: for no man understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he that prophesies speaks to men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies the church. I would that you all spoke with tongues but rather that you prophesied: for greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.” - 1. Corinthians 14:1-5 (AKJV)

To whom has the Lord promised to be saved?

Christ the Lord promised that everyone would be saved, who believe and be baptized.

When he said that?

„And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatever I have commanded you: and, see, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen.” - Matthew 28:18-20 (AKJV)

„Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.” - Acts 2:38-39 (AKJV)

„Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.” - 1. John 4:13 (AKJV)

„Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew him not.” - 1. John 3:1 (AKJV)

„For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” - Galatians 3:26-27 (AKJV)

„The Spirit itself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” - Romans 8:16-17 (AKJV)

When the Eucharist was established?

Jesus Christ has established the Eucharist evening before his death.

„And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink you all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” - Matthew 26:26-28 (AKJV)

„For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered to you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do you, as oft as you drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you do show the Lord's death till he come. Why whoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.” - 1. Corinthians 11:23-27 (AKJV)

„Whoever eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, dwells in me, and I in him.” - John 6:54-56 (AKJV)

How should we talk to God in prayers?

We must talk to God in spirit, in truth and in the name of Jesus Christ.

„God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” - John 4:24 (AKJV)

„And in that day you shall ask me nothing. Truly, truly, I say to you, Whatever you shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.” - John 16:23 (AKJV)

Why should we pray?

„And call on me in the day of trouble: I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me.” - Psalms 50:15 (AKJV)

„And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” - James 5:15-16 (AKJV)

How should we pray?

„And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward. But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly. But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not you therefore like to them: for your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask him. After this manner therefore pray you: Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For your is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” - Matthew 6:5-15 (AKJV)

How prayer should be?

Honest and confidential:
„But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” - James 1:6-7 (AKJV)

Humble:
„But he gives more grace. Why he said, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” - James 4:6 (AKJV)

„The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.” - Proverbs 15:33 (AKJV)

Persistent:
„Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;” - Romans 12:12 (AKJV)

Conciliatory:
„For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” - Matthew 6:14-15 (AKJV)

Repentant:
„Now we know that God hears not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and does his will, him he hears.” - John 9:31 (AKJV)

„And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes to heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.” - Luke 18:13 (AKJV)

According to His will:
„And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as you will.” - Matthew 26:39 (AKJV)

What should we pray for?

„But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.” - Matthew 6:33 (AKJV)

„But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which spitefully use you, and persecute you;” - Matthew 5:44 (AKJV)

Prayer as a worship

In prayers, we have not only to pray and to thank to God, but we have to also worship Him.

„Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you: For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.” - Matthew 7:7-8 (AKJV)

„O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever.” - Psalms 107:1 (AKJV)

„Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” - Psalms 103:2 (AKJV)

When should we pray to God and worship Him?

„Rejoice ever more. Pray without ceasing.” - 1. Thessalonians 5:16-17 (AKJV)

„For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the middle of them.” - Matthew 18:20 (AKJV)

„Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.” - Hebrews 10:25 (AKJV)

„For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass wither, and the flower thereof falls away: But the word of the Lord endures for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached to you.” - 1. Peter 1:24-25 (AKJV)

„Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw near, when you shall say, I have no pleasure in them;” - Ecclesiastes 12:1 (AKJV)

„For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done, whether it be good or bad.” - 2. Corinthians 5:10 (AKJV)

„There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” - Romans 8:1-4 (AKJV)

„Mercy to you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.” - Jude 1:2 (AKJV)

„Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” - 2. Corinthians 1:2 (AKJV)
